ROOTS THAT GO BACK TO1952TRAVERSE CITY, MICHIGAN

The place. The people. The roots.

Good things grow
from a good story.

Before there was a basket to fill, there was a family putting down roots.

In 1952, Dick and Doris Wagner bought a cherry-and-dairy farm in Traverse City. Through the years, berries, peaches, apples and vegetables joined the harvest. When neighbors came looking for flowers and vegetables, the greenhouse business grew, too.

Dick spent 57 years growing in the greenhouses, becoming known for his tomatoes and pumpkins. That history is the heart of Walnut Lane: grow something good, share it with your neighbors, and care for the place that makes it possible.

Today, that spirit shapes the Walnut Lane experience—from the plants you carry home to the food you share around your table. Come make your own memories here.

Something sweet from the farm

Take the pie.
Share the moment.

Some of the best farm memories start with a treat. A cider donut after a fall outing. A slice of fruit pie. Something tucked into the bag for someone who couldn’t come along.

Our bakery celebrates the flavors of the season, with farm-style baked goods that feel right at home on the kitchen table.
